From Job Posting to Interview-Ready in Minutes

JJ-JobHunter Team·July 4, 2026·5 min read

Most job-search advice describes an ideal process nobody follows, because following it manually costs an evening per application: re-read the posting, re-weight the CV, write a fresh cover letter, sanity-check the keywords, prepare for the interview you hope results. This article walks through how JJ-JobHunter compresses that process into minutes — honestly, step by step, including what each stage does not do. It is a description of the actual product, written by the people who build it, in the same tone we use to review everyone else's.

Step 1 — Find the job (or bring your own)

There are two doors in.

Search inside the platform. Job search runs on legal, licensed APIs — Adzuna and Arbeitnow — rather than scraping. That distinction is not decoration: scraped job data is legally murky and often stale, while licensed feeds are the above-board version of the same visibility. On top of the standard quick search, AI Smart Search interprets a natural description of what you want and matches it against your CV profile, with a suggest-titles helper when you are not sure what your target role is even called. Fair caveat: no aggregator carries every posting in existence — coverage is what the licensed feeds provide.

Paste a job you found elsewhere. Saw a posting on a company site or a board we do not index? Paste the description into the paste-a-job flow and the pipeline treats it exactly like a found job. In practice this matters as much as search itself: the best posting for you is wherever it is, and the platform should not care who found it first.

Either way, what moves to the next step is a concrete job description — the raw material every later stage is tailored against.

Step 2 — Generate the application

One approval generates the application package: a CV tailored to this specific posting, a cover letter, and an application email — in English, German, French or Dutch, generated natively in the target language rather than translated into it. Formal register is handled properly per language (the German letter says Sie, the French one vous), because a mis-registered letter reads wrong to every native speaker instantly.

The tailoring operates under the platform's absolute honesty rules: it never invents information, never changes titles, companies or dates, and never adds skills that are not in your profile. What it actually does is editorial — it re-orders and re-phrases your real experience so that what is most relevant to this posting leads, in the vocabulary the posting uses. Think of it as the world's fastest honest editor, not a ghostwriter with flexible morals.

You review everything before it goes anywhere — the documents are yours to edit, regenerate or discard. The AI drafts; you decide.

Step 3 — Check the honest ATS score

Before you send, the platform scores your tailored CV against the posting: real keyword coverage, with boilerplate sections excluded so the number reflects requirements rather than filler. The score is deliberately calibrated to inform rather than flatter — we have written a whole article on that philosophy — and two warnings fire when a number would mislead: when the CV and posting are in different languages (cross-language keyword scores are meaningless, so you get told instead), and when a posting's text is too thin to score at all.

What you do with the score is the strategic part. High coverage: send with confidence. Modest coverage on a role you genuinely fit: look at what vocabulary the posting uses that your documents do not, and close the honest gaps. Low coverage: consider whether the role is a stretch — and be grateful you learned it before the application, not after the silence.

The score is a pre-flight check, not a hiring probability. It cannot see the other candidates or the hiring manager's mind. It can make sure you are never filtered out for accidental invisibility, which is the part of the process that is actually yours to control.

Step 4 — Track it, and get interview-ready

Sent applications land on a kanban board — the pipeline view of your search: applied, interviewing, offers, each application with its documents attached. Unglamorous, and the thing that prevents the "did I already apply here?" moment three weeks in.

Then the step this article is named for. When an application progresses, interview prep generates a preparation pack for that specific application: likely behavioral and technical questions for the role, suggested answers in STAR structure (Situation, Task, Action, Result) — and here is the part we consider non-negotiable — grounded exclusively in your real CV. The prep never invents experience for you to claim, because a prepared lie is still a lie, and interviews are precisely where invented claims go to die. You rehearse the strongest true version of your record.

Practice mode closes the loop: answer a question in your own words and get concrete feedback on the answer — structure, specificity, what is missing. Like the generation features, prep and practice have daily limits that vary by plan; the point is deliberate rehearsal for real interviews, not infinite chat.

What this flow is honestly for

Plans run from €5.90 to €29.90 per month as of 2026, with monthly application allowances that scale accordingly — current details are on the pricing page. But the honest pitch for the flow is not volume; it is that the tedious middle of the process stops eating the time the important parts deserve.

What the platform does: removes the mechanical hours between "this posting looks right" and "a tailored, truthful, language-correct application exists, scored, tracked, with interview prep attached."

What it does not do: guarantee interviews, promise response rates we have not measured, apply on your behalf, or manufacture a candidate who does not exist. The final click on every application — and every word you say in the interview — remains yours. The product's job is to make sure that when you get to that room, you arrive prepared, on time, and telling a story that is actually true.
